100 residents of Marunda Flat, North Jakarta, participate in urban farming development training held by Jakarta Maritime Agriculture and Food Tenacity (KPKP) Dept. on Tuesday (11/13).

Jakarta KPKP Dept.'s Agriculture Division Head, Diah Meidiantie said, this training is conducted to educate flat residents regarding space utilization for farming.

Besides training, her side also provides green open space facility in flat by planting 400 productive crops, such as gandaria, gowok, jambu bol (rose apple), santol (kecapi), mango, menceng, and two hydroponic kits.
"We hope residents can arrange their environment to be greener and healthy and take care these crops well because its crop yields will be consumed by them as well," she expressed.
In this activity, residents are educated about food efficiency and food self-sufficiency in flat, family financial management, simple hydroponic method for household and how to make AB Mix nutrition.
North Jakarta Marunda UPRS Head, Muhammad Yassin expects this activity can improve their enthusiasm and solidarity to use available space in their environment for urban farming.
"We also hope flat residents can be benefited in economy through this urban farming activity," she mentioned.
